Some years ago in the little town of
Kaduna Lissam, USSA Local Govt Area of Taraba State, a little boy by name
Andenum decided to go for a swim in the river not far from behind his house.
In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out to the back of the house, leaving behind his slippers, and shirt as he went. On getting to the river bank which is a viewing distance from the house, he dived into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle, a crocodile was swimming toward him. His mother, who was sitting at the back of the house and picking beans, was looking and saw the two as they got closer and closer together.
In utter fear, she ran toward the
water, yelling to her son as loudly as she could. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out to the back of the house, leaving behind his slippers, and shirt as he went. His mother, who was sitting at the back of the house and picking beans, was looking and saw the two as they got closer and closer together.
Hearing her voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his mother. It was too late. Just as he reached her, the alligator reached him. From the river bank, the mother grabbed her little boy by the arms just as the crock snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two.
The alligator was much stronger than
the mother, the mother was much too passionate to let go. A hunter happened to
be passing by, heard the mother's scream, raced towards her, took aim, and shot
the crocodile.
After weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived and got well. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the crocodile. And, on his arms, were deep gouges
where his mother's fingernails dug into his flesh in her effort to hang onto the son she loved. The community head came to visit little Andenum after the trauma and asked if the kid would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs to display the awful damage from the Crocodile. And then, with obvious pride, the boy said to the man, "But look at my arms, I have really great scars on my arms, I have them because my Mama wouldn't let go!!!."

MORALE
You and I can identify with that
little boy. We have scars, too. Not usually from an Crocodile LOL, but the scars of
a painful past. Some of these scars are unpleasant and have caused us
deep regret. But some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go.
In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you.
The Scripture teaches that God loves
you and I. We are His children and He wants to protect and provide for us in
every way.
Sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The Rivers of life is filled with menace and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins... and if you have the scars of His love on your arms, be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go. So never judge another person's scars, because you don't know how they got them.
This Morning just take a look at your scars and know that God has blessed you with the gift of another day. You just never know where a person is in his/her life and what they are going through. Probably what One or more of your friends need to know is that God loves them, and that you love them too, enough to appreciate their scars and being there for them.
